ENG/JPN: Japan Typography Annual 2023

This Japanese-English bilingual book features over 400 works selected by a 13-member panel from the Japan Typography Association. Open to submissions worldwide, the judges—comprising association members and the previous year’s Grand Prix winner—conducted a thorough evaluation to choose one Grand Prix winner and a “Best Work Award” in each category. Additionally, a “Jury Award” recognizes works or designers that received high ratings from the judges based on their individual perspectives. The book provides an overview of the latest typography trends across ten categories, including typefaces, logotypes, symbols, visual identity, graphics, editorial work, research, experimentation, and more, along with insights into the production processes for the “Best Work Award” winners.
